Johnny Bowling
Children's Church Leader
As the Pavilion APPOINTED KIDS Church Leader, Johnny Bowling is a natural leader, a people person and is greatly loved by kids and parents alike. Above all else, he has a vision to lead his team in teaching our kids about the love of God.
Johnny was born in Germany while his dad was deployed there in the US Army. Because his mother is a German citizen he was awarded dual citizenship, to which he is to this day. At two years of age his father was stationed back to Ft. Campbell, KY.
The oldest of five siblings, Johnny knows what is like to be a part of a large family and to adjust to a diversity of situations. Growing up he has attended a Catholic School, public school and a Baptist high school. Johnny was also exposed to a variety of churches. He has colorful memories as a young boy of falling asleep under the pews of late-into-the-night Pentecostal services as well as worshipping in church settings that were more stoic and formal.
In high school Johnny became aware that he needed to have his own personal relationship with Christ. At that realization, he simply asked a teacher to pray with him, and that was the day he was born again as Jesus came to live inside of his heart. Good things followed, and in his senior year, Johnny was elected class president.
Johnny’s vision for our kids includes teaching them to not be swayed by their peers, but to stand strong in their own personal identity in Christ and be the ones that lead positive change. "I really want these kids to understand the love of God in their life so they can understand their identity. I continue to encourage them to look inward to understand their unique gifts. This gives them a foundation to become loving people and future leaders."
