Clay and Stephanie have been married since 2013, and both have worked as middle school teachers in Nashville. Clay grew up in Somerset, KY and attended the University of Kentucky where he studied Middle School Education and was a youth pastor for three years at a church in Lexington. He moved to Nashville in 2012 to pursue a Master's Degree in Urban Education at Vanderbilt, and that is where he met Stephanie. They were assigned seats together on their first day of class.
Stephanie grew up in Elgin, IL, a suburb of Chicago. She attended Vanderbilt University for her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics. She met Clay and it became apparent that their mutual love for Jesus and also for helping students to seek out their full identity in Christ were key elements in their relationship.
Since being married, Clay and Stephanie enjoy working and growing together in youth ministry. They have brought a dimension to our CHOSEN YOUTH that has deeply touched teenage lives with an understanding and a commitment to serve Jesus.
Clay has recently moved from teaching middle school to full time ministry and service. In addition to youth pastoring, Clay was voted in by the Board of Directors to serve as the Executive Director of our sister nonprofit, Outreach Base Nashville. Stephanie continues to teach in middle school education and they have a been blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Reagan Elizabeth.
